The Purple Martin Festival got off to a slow start since the area was under a nice rain storm that did not lift until the runners in the annual race was completed. The winners in their age group are listed below. Sye Head, Cody Goodman, Martha Carver and Kathy Adler. The Ladies of the Library were there in force and gathered with Martha Jane King, our State Representative, to discuss a new program that will benefit the library in the future. This program will be unfolded to all the residents of Lewisburg in the coming month. Elementary children enjoyed the annual bike and trike races and food and music was enjoyed by all. The highlight of the event was using the new “outdoor pavilion” donated by the Lions Club to the city of Lewisburg. This facility will be very beneficial to all residents in the future with many outdoor activities planned for the summer. All photos taken by Lion Barbara Bracy.
